Darcy House Grand Opening
Thursday 5 December 2024 was a special day for Darcy House Care Home in Matlock, being officially opened by the Mayor of Matlock, Cllr Jason Knighton and Consort Mrs Nicola Knighton.
The event was attended by residents, relatives, staff, healthcare professionals and members of the local community and was a great opportunity to celebrate the beautiful new care home that Darcy House is that has been supporting the local community since July 2024. Attendees of the event were treated to live entertainment from Darley Dale Brass Band and violinist Rob Jourdain. Canapes and glasses of fizz were the order of the day as well as the opportunity to look around the home and its many luxurious facilities and breathtaking views.
Offering the very best in person-centred residential, dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 78 residents the home has been designed with the residents in mind offering beautiful community living, whilst having the reassurance that support and companionship is available around the clock and is quickly becoming recognised as one of the leading care homes in the Derbyshire Dales area.
Carinna, the Home Manager has the pleasure of leading the dedicated staff team and commented ‘It has been so exciting seeing the development of the home and being a part of the commissioning team and there was no greater moment than when we opened our doors in July and welcomed in our first residents. Carinna further commented ‘there has been so much interest in the home from both residents and staff alike and the buzz around the home is infectious. The local community has also been so welcoming, and it’s been great to forge new partnerships and to ensure that our residents remain integrated within their local community'.
A plaque to commemorate the opening of the home was unveiled by the Mayor of Matlock and a beautiful cake was cut by Tom, the home's first resident.
