A Day Out at the Heights of Abraham

Our Activities Lead, Jen, and one of our residents recently enjoyed a special VIP visit to the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath.

Despite the rainy weather, they had a lovely time exploring the attraction, riding the cable cars and taking in the surrounding scenery. A change of scenery and the chance to enjoy a new experience can be a welcome boost to wellbeing, offering residents opportunities to get out and about, spend time with others and make new memories.

The visit also provided an exciting introduction to three guest speakers who will soon be coming to Darcy House to share stories about the history of our local town and its mining heritage.

These upcoming talks will give residents the opportunity to learn more about the area, revisit familiar memories and share their own experiences. Local history can be particularly meaningful for those who have lived in the area for many years, helping spark conversations and connections.

A big thank you to the team at the Heights of Abraham for making our visitors feel so welcome. We look forward to welcoming our guest speakers to Darcy House and hopefully returning for another visit soon.
