At Darcy House Care Home, we understand the importance of providing residents with balanced dining options that are rich in flavour and nutrition. We have in-house chefs and a dedicated kitchen team who collaborate closely with residents to create a menu that aligns with their allergies, dietary requirements and unique preferences. Our team is passionate about exceeding the needs of our residents with our dining options, ensuring they are provided with an environment where they can thrive.

Mealtimes at Darcy House are relaxed, social and flexible. While many of our residents enjoy eating together in our beautifully presented communal dining areas, others may prefer to dine in their en-suite bedrooms, in the café, or even outside in our private gardens when the weather permits. We also have an in-house celebration room with a lounge attached, which loved ones can hire for an unforgettable day of love, joy and delicious food.

A Diverse Selection of Dishes

At our care home in Matlock, we are proud to offer residents wholesome, home-cooked meals that are both delicious and filling. Where possible, our ingredients are always locally sourced and prepared to perfection. Our menu changes seasonally to ensure our residents are enjoying their favourite meals all year round. In the summer, residents can expect to receive meals they can enjoy in the sun as opposed to those that keep them warm and cosy in the winter.

Our talented kitchen team is led by chefs with both international and traditional culinary backgrounds, who prepare every meal with care and attention to detail. Together, they create a balanced and varied menu that’s always full of flavour.

A Luxury Dining Experience Like No Other

We understand the importance of maintaining classic dishes, so we offer traditional fish on Wednesdays, fish and chips on Fridays, a traditional roast with changing meats each Sunday, and our traditional Bakewell tart for a snack. Residents are encouraged to give feedback and share ideas through our quarterly menu meetings, helping to shape our dining options and bring even more of a personal touch to the food and care we provide.

The spaces we dine in feel more like a modern restaurant than a traditional care home setting, and both residents and visitors often say how immaculate and welcoming the environment is. We also offer full flexibility to support residents with additional needs. This includes adapted cutlery, coloured crockery to help with visual recognition, and additional assistance at mealtimes whenever it’s needed. Meals can be fortified, textures adjusted in line with IDDSI guidelines, and our team are always on hand to ensure everyone can enjoy food in a way that suits them best.

Our In-House Café

We also have an in-house café at our Matlock care home, which is always filled with a selection of homemade goods created by our kitchen assistants and is a firm favourite among residents and families alike. There are fruit bowls and bottled water placed throughout the home, alongside a snack bar in our lounge areas for when residents fancy something light between meals. Each Wednesday morning, our café bar hosts a Baking Club where residents choose what they’d like to make before enjoying it later with their dinner.

To contribute to the luxury lifestyle we offer, we regularly invite entertainers into our café to perform for residents. This provides them with the option of sitting back, watching and enjoying a snack and a drink or getting involved with the activities. With our exemplary dining experience, our café is the ideal environment for those who want to enjoy a change of scenery. We take real pride in offering a dining experience that is every bit as thoughtful as it is delicious.
