At Darcy House Care Home, we offer exemplary levels of Residential Care, Nursing Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care for up to 78 residents in Matlock, Derbyshire. We offer them a warm and welcoming environment that ensures our residents who receive nursing care can continue to reach their full potential. Our team who provides nursing care are provided with specialist training that allows them to identify and care for a variety of high-dependency nursing needs. We are proud of the nursing care we provide to individuals who prioritise maintaining their independence and dignity.

As part of our nursing care services, residents have access to support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our care home in Matlock includes a variety of all-inclusive facilities that support our residents throughout their care journey with us and work in line with our exceptional care services to improve the overall quality of life for our residents.

Understanding Nursing Care

Our nursing care services are for individuals who have complex nursing needs and require 24-hour personal living support and medical care. Our dedicated team are on hand to deliver intensive care around the clock including wound care, peg feeding and support to those who are living with long-term health conditions or physical disabilities.

Darcy House is a luxury care home that provides us with specialist equipment and facilities to offer nursing care in an environment where residents are safe and comfortable at all times.

Before moving in, we collaborate with our residents and their loved ones to create a tailored care plan which entails all of their personal and medical needs as well as their interests, dietary requirements or any general preferences. This will be reviewed regularly to ensure all details are up to date and we can continue to provide a continuum of care.

Our Approach to Nursing Care at Darcy House Care Home

We want our residents to continue to live their lives to the fullest, and this includes those receiving nursing care. All of our nursing residents will be located on the lower ground floor which all have direct outside access, proximity to our lounges and an assisted bathroom, giving them easy access to the facilities that benefit them most.

Each resident will be assigned one of our professional nurses and they will provide the highest quality of care to residents and be a support system for their loved ones.

Our rooms & suites are equipped with everything our residents need including adjustable beds, nurse call systems, pressure cushions and an en-suite wet room. Residents and those closest to them can rest assured that their needs are not only being met but exceeded when they receive nursing care.

To provide a better understanding of our nursing care services, we have collated a list of the most common questions we are asked.

Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and their safety is our top priority. We ensure their safety by having enough nurses available every day, ensuring they are provided with regular specialist training, implementing, following and regularly updating procedures regarding medication management and infection control and regularly conducting assessments and audits within the home. There are also security measures in place to prevent anybody unauthorised from accessing our home to further prioritise residents’ safety.

The level of nursing care we offer your loved ones is dependent on their personal and medical needs. Our team are highly qualified and has received training to ensure we can cater to a wide range of nursing needs. We will also be in regular contact with external healthcare providers to ensure the care plans we create continue to align with the needs of our residents.

Many signs may indicate that nursing care is appropriate for your loved one. This may include recent hospitalisations, injuries, increased confusion, medication management challenges, a decline in chronic health conditions, changes in appetite and challenges with daily living activities. Our nursing team here at Darcy House can assess the required level of care and guide you towards the most suitable care type for your family member. Ensuring open communication is maintained is crucial to us during this process.

At Darcy House Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
