A Wonderful Day Out at Matlock Farm Park

Residents at Darcy House Care Home recently enjoyed a delightful day out at Matlock Farm Park, where the fresh countryside air, friendly animals, and good company made for a truly memorable experience. The trip offered everyone the perfect opportunity to relax and reconnect with nature, something our residents always look forward to.

The morning began with plenty of excitement as everyone set off for the farm, chatting about which animals they hoped to see first. On arrival, residents were welcomed by the gentle bleating of sheep and the cheerful chatter of children visiting the park. There was so much to see and do, from feeding the goats and meeting the ponies to watching the ducks paddle on the pond. The joy on our residents’ faces as they interacted with the animals was wonderful to see and reminded us how moments like these really do make a difference to well-being.

After a leisurely walk around the grounds, the group gathered at the farm’s restaurant for a delicious lunch. The comforting food and warm conversation made it a highlight of the day, with many commenting on how lovely it was to share a meal together in such a peaceful setting. To finish, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved hot chocolate, which was especially welcome after the crisp outdoor stroll.

It was a day filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of smiles. Outings like this are an important part of life at Darcy House and encourage residents to stay active, enjoy the outdoors and make cherished memories together. Our care team always ensures that every trip is thoughtfully planned to suit each resident’s needs and comfort, allowing everyone to take part at their own pace.

We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Matlock Farm Park and to many more adventures, wherever they may be! At Darcy House Care Home, we believe life should be full of meaningful moments and companionship.
