A Quacking Visit to Bakewell

Residents sat together on a day out

Our residents and team members took taxis and visited the local town of Bakewell for a lovely afternoon in the sunshine. We went to a local shop and bought some fish and chips which residents enjoyed whilst soaking up the sun. Our team made sure to take snacks so residents could also feed the ducks and geese! We finished up by of course enjoying a Bakewell Tart!

It was a brilliant day enjoyed by both residents and our team. They were able to continue building strong relationships which created a sense of community and belonging. The weather was also on our side which meant residents could enjoy a bit of fresh air and sunshine in their favourite outfits.

As part of our activities & entertainment program, we strive to plan regular trips out of the home as we understand the range of benefits this can bring to our residents and their well-being, as well as it being one of their favourite things to do! Enriching activities and socialisation opportunities ensure that our residents feel supported throughout every day of their stay with us at Darcy House.

Taking trips to the next town also means residents can enjoy the scenic environment of somewhere further afield. Whilst our care home in Matlock offers residents beautiful views from our private gardens and rooms, it is always lovely for them to have variety in their days!
